Private Online Lessons
I offer private online violin lessons for intermediate and advanced students. Alongside my private studio, I teach at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music (BKCM) and the Lucy Moses School in New York City. Lessons arranged through this website are part of my independent private teaching.
Because establishing the physical setup of the instrument can be difficult online, I usually work with students who already have some playing experience.
Students I work with include dedicated amateurs, young musicians preparing for auditions, and adults returning to the instrument.

Teaching Philosophy
Learning to play a musical instrument is much more than acquiring a technical skill. Studying music develops sensitivity, imagination, patience, and the ability to express emotions through sound.
My teaching combines my European musical background with pedagogical approaches informed by the Suzuki Method (certified teacher) and Paul Rolland String Pedagogy (Level One Endorsement). I aim to spark curiosity about the violin and nurture a love for the beautiful sound it can produce.
I work with each student individually, building on their strengths while offering clear goals and practical strategies for practice. Rather than simply giving answers, I encourage students to think independently and develop their own musical awareness.
My approach addresses both the physical and mental aspects of violin playing—from healthy posture and efficient movement to stage presence and managing performance anxiety.
Student Experiences & Testimonials
I am an adult student returning to the violin after almost 40 years. Anna’s patient and empathetic approach helped me find the calm focus I needed to make progress.
Anna doesn’t overteach. I never feel overwhelmed by too many simultaneous corrections. She lets her students explore their instrument and gently guides them along.
She has a brilliant way of teaching difficult passages by breaking them down into easier components.— Benjamin
Anna is an exceptional and devoted teacher. Her good humor, positive reinforcement, and impressive knack for explaining challenging techniques in ways that are easy to grasp has provided the ideal environment for my son to learn. Thanks to Anna, he enjoys his lessons, performs with confidence and skill, and loves the violin.
