It appears suddenly, without warning—and it’s certainly not a welcome guest in our hearts. Almost everyone knows stage fright. And if someone doesn’t yet, sooner or later they will.

Morty is afraid long before the concert even begins. When he meets Fright, a quiet and persistent presence, he does not overcome his fear at once. Instead, he slowly begins to get to know it, discovering that fear may not be something to escape, but something to understand.

In this enchanting story by two artist friends, an unwelcome visitor becomes the hero of a tale told with lightness, humor, originality, and warmth—sure to delight even the most demanding readers.

The original book project received a distinction in the 3rd edition of the Clairvoyants 2018! competition and was presented in the post-competition exhibition in Warsaw.

Included in the 2023 Reading Recommendations of the Polish Section of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), highlighting notable children’s books of the year.
